Can I copy several pages on to one page? (Duplex, N in 1, Poster)

N in 1 Copying allows you to save paper by copying either two or four pages on to one page. To use the N in 1 feature, please follow these steps:

  1. Press the Copy key to illuminate it in green.

  2. Place the original(s) face down in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) or face down on the scanner glass.

  3. Use the dial pad to enter the number of copies you want (up to 99).

  4. Press the Copy Options key, then press the Up or Down Arrow key to select "Page Layout".

  5. Press the Menu/Set key to confirm your choice.

  6. Press the Up or Down Arrow key to select "2 in 1(P)", "2 in 1(L)", "4 in 1(P)", or "4 in 1(L)", then press the Menu/Set key to confirm your choice.

    • "P" stands for "Portrait", which means that the short edge of the paper will be the top of the page you print. "L" stands for "Landscape", which means that the long edge of the paper will be the top of the page.

    • "2 in 1 (P)" indicates that the two original "Portrait" format documents will be copied side by side on the front of the printed page in "Portrait" format. The first scanned page will be on the left half of the page, while the second scanned page will be on the right hand side.

    • "2 in 1 (L)" indicates that the two original "Landscape" format documents will be copied, one above the other, on the front of the printed page in "Landscape" format. The first scanned page will be on the top half of the page, while the second scanned page will be on the bottom half.

    • "4 in 1 (P)" indicates that the four original "Portrait" format documents will be copied on the front of the printed page in "Portrait" format. Each copied page takes up a quarter of the resulting printout. The first scanned page will be in the top left position, the second scanned page will be on the upper right, the third page will take up the lower left quarter of the page, while the fourth page will be on the bottom right.

    • "4 in 1 (L)" indicates that the four original "Landscape" format documents will be copied on the front of the printed page in "Landscape" format. Each copied page takes up a quarter of the resulting printout. The first scanned page will be in the top left position, the second scanned page will be on the lower left, the third page will take up the top right quarter of the page, while the fourth page will be on the bottom right.

  • If you have chosen Glossy as your paper type for N in 1 Copying, the Brother machine will print the images as if Plain paper had been selected.

  • If you are producing multiple color copies, then N in 1 Copying is not available.
