Hear the dialing, ringing, and fax-receiving tones while I'm sending a fax.
Manual transmission lets you hear the dialing, ringing, and fax-receiving tones while you send a fax.
To manually send a fax, follow these steps:
To manually send a fax, follow these steps:
- Press Fax on the Brother machine.
- Place the document you want to fax into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) face down, top edge first.
- Do one of the following:
- Press Hook or Speaker Phone and listen for a dial tone.
- If your Brother machine has handset, lift the machine's handset and listen for a dial tone.
- Lift an external telephone's handset and listen for a dial tone.
- Dial the number you want to send to.
- When you hear the fax tones, press Black Start or Color Start on the machine.
- If you lifted the machine's handset (if applicable) or an external telephone's handset, hang it up.
