Restrict dialing from my Brother machine

You can use your Brother machine's Dial Restriction feature to prevent users from accidentally sending a fax or placing a call to the wrong number. You can program the machine to restrict dialing from the dial pad, Address Book, Shortcut, and LDAP search.
  • If you select Off, the machine does not restrict the dialing method.

  • If you select On, the machine will restrict all fax sending and outbound calls for the selected dialing method.

  • If you select Enter # Twice, the machine will prompt you to re-enter the number.

If you re-enter the number correctly, the machine will dial it.
If you re-enter the wrong number, the Touchscreen will display an error message.

To restrict dialing from the dial pad, Address Book, Shortcut, or LDAP search, follow these steps:

  1. Press Settings.
  2. Press All Settings.
  3. Swipe up or down, or press the Up or Down arrow key to display Fax.

  7. Press the dialing method you want to restrict dialing.
