What is the Image to Embroidery function?

Image to Embroidery

Use your own images to create projects that look like hand-made embroidery or cross stich designs. Take illustrations or pictures from your mobile device and transfer them to your Brother machine.

Convert your own images to embroidery data and use them to create:
- Digitized Embroidery
- Cross Stitch Embroidery

You must have an Artspira+ subscription to use this function.

Digitized Embroidery

Digitizing Embroidery

Artspira+ allows you to create an embroidered look from pictures and illustrations. Choose the image you want from your mobile device and specify the number of colors you want in the final result.
The stitches used in digitized embroidery designs are stitched in a single direction and each stitch is shaped like a fill stitch.

Cross Stitch Embroidery

Cross Stitch Embroidery

You can also use Artspira+ to create a beautiful cross stitch style embroidery project based on an image or illustration on your mobile device.
Cross stitching is an embroidery style where the stitches are sewn in the shape of an 'x' to create a pattern.
Change the size of the 'x' to personalize your final cross stitch design!

Tips

  • Make sure your original image contains shapes with clear borders.

  • Use the app's 'Remove background' command to erase the image's background with one simple touch.

    (2) Remove:OFF
    (3) Remove:ON

Notes

  • Avoid images that contain any of the following:
    • Unclear outlines or borders:
An image with fuzzy or jagged borders will result in uneven embroidery. Clear, smooth outlines and borders produce the clearest final images.
If the original image has unclear outlines or borders, the final image may look very different from the original.

    • Very small details /
      Too many patterns:

If your image has a small, scattered pattern or many tiny details, each must be embroidered separately, and you'll need to cut the thread more often. Cutting too many threads may reduce the quality of your embroidered result.

    • Thin lines:
If lines in your original image are thin, they may be converted as broken lines. Sections of thin lines may not appear in your embroidered result.
